Why the CSS Chart was created

There is a lot of CSS in SharePoint and the 2010 version uses a CSS based layout for the web site design and layout. This really allows for flexible and accessible web sites but also can be a bit more challenging to create.

The CSS Chart will help you understand the nested structure of the styles assigned to SharePoint elements and provide a visual guide as to where different styles are used in a SharePoint site. The CSS Chart also provides a copy of the code so you can do a quick and easy copy/paste from the chart to your own custom CSS file.

CSS is definitely a HUGE part of rebranding SharePoint and is the most valuable skill a web designer/developer can have if they have been tasked with making SharePoint not look like SharePoint.
